Although raised with Westminster Assembly theology, I cannot stress the importance of The Heidelberg Catechism. The Commentary on the Heidelberg Catechism (written right after the catechism itself) is nothing short of astonishing. It is full to the brim with Biblical references and contains many unheard phrases. It is concise, yet so pastoral. One of its greatest values is in its mentioning of HUNDREDS of objections to Christian truths. Then the answers are given in only one or two sentences. A truly amazing book, and so Christ-centered! I think it can still be purchased for less than $25 plus shipping. A top ten book in any library. rayban wayfarer
